New Law for Teen Drivers On Thursday January 4, 2007 Gov. Bob Taft signed Substitute House Bill 343. Here is a Summary of Sub House Bill 343: Temporary Permit v Obtain at age 15 and half years old v Has permit in car v With a licensed operator who is at least 21 years and not intoxicated v Total number of occupants cannot exceed number of restraining devices in the vehicle. v Hour restrictions: 12 midnight – 6 a.m. v Except with a parent/guardian who is not intoxicated. v Hour restriction is not a primary enforcement.
Probationary License 16 to 17 years old v Hour restrictions: 12 midnight – 6 a.m. v Exemption for when traveling to or from work with a note. v Employers cannot be held liable for damages in a civil action. v Exemption for official functions sponsored by school. v Exemption for emergency. v No more than one non-family member v Except when driver is with a parent or guardian. v During first 6 months of a probationary license (starting on day obtained), or if over 16 years 6 months but less than 17, if a driver receives a moving violation, there are increased penalties: v Must be accompanied by parent/guardian.

The Uniontown Police Dept will vigorously enforce the speed limits on Lake Center Street! We ask that you obey the posted speed limits Residents living on Lake Center St and motorists pulling out from side streets have to be very careful due to vehicles traveling high rates of speed |
